Q. Are you going to write more books?

A. I have two more LDS novels that are well underway, and ideas for more. Almost Everything is about a young woman whose family was shattered several years earlier by divorce, and the choices she must make regarding marriage and her testimony. It's a little more serious than Just the Way You Are, but I'm really pleased with the story and the things that the characters learn along the way. The other book is -- you guessed it -- a sequel to Just the Way You Are. I had so much fun with these characters the first time around that I have to see what happens next!

I am also working on a kid's science fiction novel for my son. I got the characters on the spaceship, but now I'm stuck.

Q. Do you have any other books published?

A. Not yet. That might explain why my website is currently filled with information on just one book.

Q. Where do your ideas for your characters come from?

A. Catha/LaNae, Hanna, Mandy, and Monica all started with people I had met but didn't really know. (I hasten to add, for all my old college friends out there, these were people I didn't know. Not you guys!) Since I didn't know much about any of them, I was free to expand their characters and imagine how they might act in the situations I gave them. Emmett came together from several ideas I had over the years, including one I had all the way back in fifth grade. All of the characters, particularly the main ones, have a whole lot of me in them. (Yes, even LaNae and all her foibles. Especially LaNae.) Yet all of the characters really took off on their own. That's an exhilarating part of writing, getting your characters to the point where they practically write themselves.

Q. Do you ever update your website?

A. Not if I can help it. ;-)
